Creepin’ (JChan Springtime in a Small Town Mix)

It’s another disgusting dishrag of a day here in Toxic Town – the perfect day for zoning out with a DVD.

I dug out a copy of the seminal Chinese classic “Springtime in a Small Town” – Fei Mu’s 1948 romantic melodrama that is often cited as the “greatest Chinese fim of all time” and drearily captures the ennui and uncertainty of post-war China – and sampled the protagonist over a shuffling Questlove beat and threw a little Mal Waldron into the mix.

The chime sample is from Kevin Shield’s “Are You Awake?” from the Lost in Translation soundtrack.
