More Dope Blends and Remixes

As a continuation of my post from the other day on my favorite blends and remixes, here are a few more worth checking out:

Cookin’ Soul & Don Cannon present Nas The Lost Tapes 1.5

The producing duo known for mashing up Jay Z and Oasis and Jay Z and Elvis put out this fat compilation of remixed Nas tracks with DJ Don Cannon a few months back.

Download from here.

Speaking of the Nasty One, this remix album has been around for a few years, but deserves its spot on any list – classic Nas flows set over MF Doom produced tracks – how dope is that? The results sound a lot better than the original productions on many of these tracks. Check the Myspace page here.

DJ Needles – American Gangstarr

This remix of Jay Z over Gang Starr tracks by St Louis DJ Nappy Needles first came out in 2008 but has remained in circulation in the wake of Guru’s demise last year. I only recently came upon it and though I’m not the biggest Jay Z fan, I fucks with the “Ignorant Sh_T / Mass Appeal (dirty)” mashup. Download here.

Memory Man presents Wu Tang vs DITC

Austin, TX based beatsmith Memory Man put out this “blend of blends” that essentially mixes vocals and tracks of two of New York’s finest: Wu Tang lyrics over DITC tracks and vice versa – sounds simple enough, but the results are amazing – this is probably my favorite blend yet. Download here.

More to come soon.
